چکیده

Refrigerated vans used for home deliveries are attracting attention as online grocery shopping in the UK is expanding rapidly and contributes to increasing greenhouse gas (CO2) nitrogen oxides (NOX) emissions. These typically 3.5-tonne gross weight vehicles equipped with temperature-controlled units called Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs), which usually powered off vehicles' engine. It obvious that added of TRUs consume more fuel emit NOX, let alone diesel engines also powering refrigeration units, further elevates This research uses an instantaneous vehicle emission model PHEM (version 13.0.3.21) simulate real-world emissions from refrigerated vans. A validation included using data laboratory (chassis dynamometer) tests over a realistic driving profile (the London Drive Cycle), assess its ability quantify impact changing weights carrying loads. The TRU weight, greater frontal area aerodynamic drag load on van then estimated by PHEM. influence ambient temperature, cargo condition CO2 NOX assessed. Overall found be 15% higher than standard vehicles, elevated 18%. confirms need take into account additional engine when predicting this other sectors such ambulances relatively heavy, high vehicles. Moreover, findings consumptions can optimize fuel-saving strategies test cases alternative low- or zero-emission technologies, support progress sustainable net-zero society.

Evaluation of Exhaust Emissions from Three Diesel-Hybrid Cars and Simulation of After-Treatment Systems for Ultralow Real-World NOx Emissions.

Hybridization offers great potential for decreasing pollutant and carbon dioxide emissions of diesel cars. However, an assessment of the real-world emissions performance of modern diesel hybrids is missing. Here, we test three diesel-hybrid cars on the road and benchmark our findings with two cars against tests on the chassis dynamometer and model simulations. The pollutant emissions of the two...

Harvesting Energy from CO2 Emissions

When two fluids with different compositions are mixed, mixing energy is released. This holds true for both liquids and gases, though in the case of gases, no technology is yet available to harvest this energy source. Mixing the CO2 in combustion gases with air represents a source of energy with a total annual worldwide capacity of 1570 TWh. To harvest the mixing energy from CO2-containing gas e...

Long-term scenarios for aviation: Demand and emissions of CO2 and NOx

This study presents a dynamical systems model for long-term scenarios of demand in the aviation sector and resultant emissions of CO2 and NOx. We analyze the dynamics of demand growth for aviation, particularly in the emerging markets of developing nations. A model for subsonic aviation emissions is presented that reflects the consequences of industry forecasts for improvement in aviation fuel ...
